The Texas Poverty Law Section of the State Bar of Texas is dedicated to advancing equal access to justice for all Texans, particularly those with limited financial resources.

Our mission is to support attorneys and allied professionals in addressing the legal challenges faced by low-income individuals and families across critical areas such as housing, family law, public benefits, consumer protection, healthcare access, and other matters that disproportionately impact vulnerable communities.

Through education, networking, resource sharing, and advocacy, the Section equips its members with the tools and knowledge necessary to provide effective representation and to promote systemic improvements that ensure the judicial system serves every Texan, regardless of economic circumstances.

Established as the 43rd section of the State Bar of Texas, we unite legal services providers, private practitioners, judges, academics, and others who share a commitment to combating poverty-related legal issues and fostering equity in the administration of justice.
